Description of our house

![]() ]
Our home is a relaxed and informal two storey, architect-designed house, modelled on modern queensland beach-house design. There are three large bedrooms and a very large rumpus rooms, all downstairs, as well as two bathrooms. Bedrooms can sleep 7 people comfortably. Upstaris is open-plan kitchen, dining, lounge room, with timber floors, opening onto a large deck/balacony area. We have several decks/balconies attached to the house for easy outdoor living. The yard is fenced, and the house is built on a sloping block. The backyard has been partially terraced. We are surrounded by many trees and shrubs which attract a variety of beautiful parrots and other rainforest birds. It is a very comfortable, easy to live in, home.

Tamborine Mountain is in the mountainous hinterland of the Gold Coast in Queensland. It is a 20-30 minute drive from the mountain to most Gold Coast attractions, including beaches, theme parks and large shopping centres. It is an hours drive to Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. The mountain is a beautiful natural environment, with many rainforest walks and National Parks. It is a tourist destination, mostly for day-trippers, and has many coffee shops, galleries, restaurants, craft shops, breweries and wineries. ![]() Something about ourselves

My husband, Hugh and I have two lively boys (aged 17 and 12yrs). We both work as School Counsellors/Psychologists. Our busy life revolves around work and sporting committments. We have travelled with our boys for four months in Europe in 2010, mostly with house exchanges, and had a fantastic time, staying in some great homes, and meeting lots of wonderful people through house swapping. We look forward to more house swaps in the future. We live in a fantastic community and natural environment and anyone who did a swap with us would be well looked after during their stay here. We are actively involved in several community and environmental groups on Tamborine Mountain, and love to "get outside" to bushwalk, cycle and swim. ![]()
