Our house is a lovely classic Queenslander-style house, built in 1926 and which we renovated in 2000. It's a cosy home with a main bedroom and two children's bedrooms (one of which has a two beds, and we can add a bed to the other bedroom if needed), a kitchen, bright bathroom, dining room and comfortable lounge room with a piano and a large LCD television. All three bedrooms have reverse-cycle air-conditioning. We have a beautiful breezy verandah looking to the north-east, where you can have breakfast and relax on the day-bed. We have wireless Internet access (high-speed broadband) available. Under the house is the laundry and a second bathroom. We have bicycles available for your use. We have a very large private garden filled with Australian native plants and trees, as well as a trampoline and a swing, slide, playhouse and sandpit for the children.

Our house is in is in the suburb of Windsor which is 4 km from the centre of Brisbane city, capital of the state of sunny Queensland. It is on a quiet street with friendly neighbours. There is a bus stop on the next block (2 minute walk) and Windsor train station is very close by. We are also very close to shops and the public library. Our city is located on Brisbane river where you can take a river cruise, and there is great shopping to be done in the city. At Southbank, over the other side of the river, there are fantastic art galleries, the Queensland Museum, the Queensland Perfoming Arts Centre (opera, ballet, musicals, live music, plays), parklands and even a beach! For those who enjoy eating out, Brisbane offers many excellent restaurants. Brisbane is on Moreton Bay which has many islands you can visit, including Moreton, North Stradbroke and South Stradbroke Islands, and just 1 hour to the north are the amazing beaches of the Sunshine Coast, and 1 hour to the south is the famous Gold Coast. There are also many National Parks in the region, with great walks and beautiful scenery. For visitors who want to see more of our country, there are very cheap flights available - a flight to Sydney from Brisbane only takes one hour, and the islands of the Great Barrier Reef are also a short flight away.

Scott is a science teacher, Helen is a librarian at a university, and our daughters are 12 and 10 years old and are both studying at primary school. We enjoy movies, good restaurants, traveling, art, hiking, and bike-riding. We have traveled in Europe before and had a wonderful time, and can't wait to return. We haven't done a home exchange before (but we have house-sat in Central France in 2009-2010) - we think it is a great way to experience another country. We love our home and are very happy to share it, and would take great care of yours.

We are looking for an exchange in Europe for anywhere between a few weeks to 2 months. We would like to try two exchanges in different countries. We would also consider a North American exchange, and would love to visit New York for a shorter period, from a few days to a couple of weeks would be great.
