Our home is positioned on the high side of the street in a quiet cul de sac. With French doors opening from the formal lounge dining area onto a spacious verandah, it is a wonderful locale for entertaining or just idling time away with a book and the morning sunshine, or enjoying an evening BBQ with drinks. The upper floor has the main bedroom with en-suite. It also has a spacious well appointed kitchen with family room and separate laundry and toilet. Adjoining the kitchen is a compact office/computer room. The ground floor has three spacious bedrooms with a kitchenette/lounge room, bathroom and toilet. We live in a "green" bushland suburb with views that can be enjoyed from our verandah and we have a leafy garden with pleasant mood lighting by evening. Our neighbours are approachable and friendly but will afford you absolute privacy.

Our home is located 9.5Km from Brisbane's CBD and there are lots of options for public transport. Easily accessible for example is the South Bank Parkland where there is a city beach (see last photo) with free entry and good facilities. The Qld Art Gallery, Library, Museums, dining, entertainment, sports venues, shopping and Saturday Farmers Markets are also close by. Brisbane is ideally located between the Sunshine and Gold Coasts and the Garden City of Toowoomba. Brisbane is a centre for Queensland tourist activity with the islands of Moreton Bay being readily accessible for day tripping. Something about ourselves
We are Philippa and Wayne and we describe ourselves as "young" 60+ seniors who are retired from work and family responsibilities. We have been married for 40 years and are looking now to enjoy the history and culture that has made Britain great. We are hoping to meet up with local folk, make new friends, see the sights and do lots of day tripping, including hiking across the countryside. We have not previously had any house swaps but we are responsible and will be taking care of your property as we expect you will of ours with both of us having the strong sense of enjoying life and being "at home" While flexible, our planned time frame is for 3 months somewhere between May to August 2010 or as depends on what may best suit both parties. We are able to provide a "pay as you go" mobile phone during the swap as well as a GPS which would make for more enjoyable, worry-free motoring.
