Our home is brick and timber design and has expansive decks overlooking our tropical garden. There are also views to the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. It is a reasonably modern home with new bamboo floors throughout and high, exposed beam ceilings which showcase artwork we've collected from around the world. We've just built in underneath our home to include a modern self-contained guest area with queen bedroom, living area with sofa bed, kitchenette and bathroom. Comfortable, modern furnishing throughout the house with TV, Stereo, Video and DVD players.

We have a leafy suburb, surrounded by trees with many native birds, including kookaburras and bush turkeys. We are a 5 minute walk to small convenience store, fruit and vege market, take-away and Bottle-shop. We are a 10-minute drive to the best Shopping Centre on the Sunshine Coast with large supermarkets, department stores and specialty stores. It's also a 10 minute drive to many beaches including Mooloolaba which has great cafes, fine dining and lovely vistas. We have 2 cars: a Toyota Rav 4WD and Suzuki 4WD. We are only a 1-hour drive to Brisbane and the International airport; the local airport is a 15-minute drive away with regular budget flights to Sydney, Melbourne and now Auckland, NZ. We are two secondary teachers in our mid 40s with a 9 year old daughter. We love travelling, art, history, food and wine. At the end of 2007, we completed our first house exchange in Canada which was a wonderful experience. At the end of 2008, we did our second house exchange in lovely Croatia. We exchanged in California at the end of 2011 and have an exchange planned in Singapore at the end of 2012. We love travelling anywhere in Europe but would love to see more of Asia, America, Africa and Great Britain. We are open to any suggestions.
