Description of our house

Absolute waterfront home in sub tropical location, safe swimming and fishing right at the front door. Warm and sunny most of the year round. Features 3 bedrooms, 2 upstairs and one downstairs. The main bedroom has a king size bed and opens to the deck that looks directly onto the sea, you can lay in bed and listen to the birds and gaze out across the water. The second has a queen size bed and a single bed, downstairs has 3 sets of double bunks ideal for kids and visitors alike. A modern kitchen flowing into the dining room and lounge room that all overlook the ocean. Wifi for your laptop connection. Upstairs has a newly renovated bathroom and separate toilet, downstairs another smaller bathroom and toilet. outside there is a fresh water shower for when you come out of the sea. The deck has a large table that seats 8 people and 2 sun lounges are available to just lay and soak up the sun. A BBQ is also included that gets lots of use to cook the 'catch of the day'.

Located on an island (Macleay Island) only 15 minutes by fast ferry/barge to the mainland where there is numerous large shopping center's restraunt's hotels theater complex and all manner of commercial requirements. From there it is a comfortable 45 minute drive to the center of Brisbane the capital city of Queensland and the international and domestic airports, Queensland is Australia's sunniest and warmest state year round. Our home has uninterrupted stunning views over the water and for the keen water person many hours can be spent either laying on the sand, swimming in the warm waters, relaxing on the balcony, or catching the local fish and if your lucky one of our world famous mud crabs (very tasty), and just enjoying what our vast Pacific ocean offers. Our home is designed for easy waterfront living and the island is serviced by a good variety of shops, 2 supermarkets, Butcher, Pharmacy, Doctor, clubs, restaurants, cafes, 9 hole golf course, lawn Green Bowling club, a hotel and more. Everything you need is available on the Island. We are only a 50 minute drive to the Gold Coast (Australia's premier holiday/tourist destination that abounds in hotels, sunny beaches, amusement parks, night clubs). Our beach house is a great location to use`as a base from which to explore the rest of our beautiful country, then return to the tranquility of Island life. Something about ourselves

We are a semi-retired professional couple, our children are now all adults and moved on, so now its our turn to travel and see the world. Home Exchange is a wonderful way to explore far away places that we may not normally visit plus it allows someone to see our amazing country and surrounds. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers and of course have you get to know us. We are a very 'house proud' couple and will respect your property as if it was our own.
