We'd love to have you visit our spacious home at Burnett Heads, on the coast 17k from Bundaberg. In a beautiful garden setting, with fenced swimming pool set amongst tropical gardens, the home features 4 bedrooms - 3 queen size bedrooms (2 of which have ensuite and walk in robe) and one single bedroom. Ducted air conditioning throughout, plus ceiling fans in most rooms. Relax and read or watch TV from the quality leather recliners, or enjoy reading, listening to music, or good conversation from our modern leather suite in sitting/conversation area. Spacious kitchen with gas cooktop, electric oven, dishwasher, and 2 door fridge, with a variety of electrical appliances including steamer, slow cooker, wok, sandwich maker, food mixer, forms part of our open plan living area. The separate enclosed patio provides a second living area with eating area, gym equipment and art area with workbench and easel. Salt water swimming pool and outdoor BBQ. Separate office with internet access and phone. We don't have a desktop computer, so please bring your laptop if required. Two adult bicycles available. House is in a quiet area just 600 metres from the beach. A family of kangaroos resident in Burnett Heads usually grazes in the vacant land across the road. Please no young children. We prefer up to 4 people, but will consider maximum of 6. Non simultaneous exchanges are also an option - talk to us!

Situated in quiet Burnett Heads near Bargara on the Coral Coast, our home is 600 metres from beach with great walking/bike tracks, and parks with children's playground. Supermarket (IGA) opened late 2010, plus hotel/bistro, club, small shops, all 1 km from home. A few minutes to Bundaberg Port Marina and restaurant. Five minutes drive to Mon Repos turtle rookery, where Loggerhead and other sea turtles nest and/or hatch from November to March. Our local beach (800 metres) also is a nesting place for turtles. 20 minutes to large provincial town of Bundaberg with its art gallery, museums, shopping, restaurants, botanical gardens and rum distillery, and 50 mins to historic Childers. The coastal resort town of Bargara is less than 10 minutes drive, where you can swim, shop, golf, visit the restaurants or picnic on the foreshore,and hand feed the fish at a protected beach. Less than 2 hours drive south to Hervey Bay (whalewatching late July to September) departure point for day and overnight tours to fabulous Fraser Island, (highly recommended by our previous exchange guests). See the Great Barrier Reef - fly from Bundaberg to Lady Elliot Island for a day or longer, or drive to 1770 and take the boat to Lady Musgrave or beautiful Fitzroy Reef. Nearby, skateboard parks, fishing, diving, snorkelling, walk and bike tracks, golf courses, bowls (lawn and tenpin), and restaurants. For the artist, choices of coastal scenery, Australian bushland, heritage buildings and towns, swampland, and wildlife. Drive to Agnes Water/1770 - approximately 1 1/2 hours drive to the north - and take a boat to beautiful Lady Musgrave Island or Fitzroy Reef or just explore this beautiful area. For those staying longer, a side trip to Noosa and Sunshine Coast is just 3 1/2 hours south - our location is great for a combination of Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island, coastal and provincial Queensland, and time permitting, the Sunshine Coast. We are John and Julie, semi retired and enjoying overseas home exchanges, plus shorter exchanges within Australia! We enjoy the outdoors, and would love to experience small country towns or large cities. Mostly there will be just the two of us, but we may on occasions be accompanied by family or friends (by arrangement with our exchange hosts). We are flexible with duration of exchange, but in general prefer three weeks or more for Europe and America, less OK for closer destinations. We have enjoyed over 20 exchanges and loving it. We'd particularly like to visit London and Francein 2014, or Singapore any time - non-simultaneous or simultaneous can be considered. Also looking for shorter exchanges Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast (school holidays OK). Our home may be available for non simultaneous exchanges at times during 2013, however we have arranged our travel plans for that year.
