![]() Our neighborhood
Kiama is a small coastal tourist town with many cafes, beaches and interesting shops. It is about 2 hours south of Sydney which can be reached by road or train - an easy day trip. Our national capital, Canberra is also only 2 hours drive away. There are several good golf courses in the area, and many beautiful beaches and walks including Minnamurra Rainforest with boardwalk walks and there are lovely drives to the mountains or national parks with spectacular scenery or drive further south to interesting towns, Mogo Zoo and many sandy coastal beaches. Even in our winter, which is mild there is lots to do and see. We have done three exchanges before and the people who stayed here, loved our home and the area. Kiama boasts a famous heritage lighthouse alongside a large blow hole which many people visit Kiama to see. Our rugged and majestic coastline creates a water-lovers' playground with protected dive spots and a small fleet of fishing vessels which bring fresh seafood daily. Local produce and collectible market, wineries and boutique shops, art and cultural galleries and historic musems are close by. Just 25 mins from Kiama is the Illawarra Fly treetop walk which provides unique views from the steel boardwalk and tower of the spectacular coastline and the native forest. We are Ted and Jill, a married senior couple who enjoy our home but also travelling. Ted is a retired CEO of a large Charity while Jill is a retired English language teacher. We are non-smokers, fit and healthy and experienced drivers both in Australia and overseas. We have four married children, all of whom live within an hour's drive of our home and eleven grandchildren. Our children could give support if necessary. We have previously travelled in motorhomes abroad and all around Australia. For our home exchanges we also like to exchange cars. Although we prefer rural or semi-rural or scenic areas, interesting cities fascinate us too. Having previously exchanged homes with people in Canada, Alaska and the north Island of New Zealand, we found it to be a wonderful experience. We are honest, tidy and trustworthy and would care for your home with great care as we would hope you would do with ours. We are looking for exchanges for 2011 at this stage, and would like to include England and the Netherlands or any other European country. However we want to be at home over Christmas and the January holidays with our extended family. We look forward to hearing from you and will reply to all emails. ![]() ![]()
