My home is a modern inner city apartment on the 7th level of a secure apartment block. This level allows widespread views of the city and the ceiling to floor length windows in the sitting area make the apartment very light and spacious. The sitting room and main bedroom open out onto a large balcony which faces North East so traps the sun most of the day.
The apartment is situated close to wonderful cafes and diverse shopping outlets as well as being serviced by buses and trains to the city and beyond. Handy to the airport, the apartment is only 15minutes to Bondi Beach for a surf or the Opera House for a concert. A golf course is nearby. My car is in the secure carpark and is available on request.
The second bedroom has its own bathroom which is at the opposite end of the apartment to the main bedroom which has its own ensuite. This makes it an ideal arrangement for two couples or a family with growing children. Within the apartment block there is a swimming pool and several parks surround the grounds of the complex including one which is ideal for younger children.
I am interested in travelling in Europe and the Americas mainly in university holidays since I do teach at the University of Sydney. But other times may be negotiable. My neighbourhood is being 'renovated' after languishing for years as an area where the car industry flourished. The City of Sydney has committed resources to make Zetland the new heart of Sydney. This has attracted a lot of small - medium businesses with trendy cafes, restaurants and designer shops being established throughout the area. Lots of apartments are now popping up but good pre planning has meant that we have wide streets, open spaces and parks throughout the blocks. This makes it a very pleasant place to wander through.
if you are a walker it is an easy walk to the city (approx 40 minutes stroll) and buses and trains run throughout the day and well into the evening. Since it is close to the city a taxi is also a good proposition. You can also get a train to the Blue Mountains an hour or so away; to the South Coast an hour away or to the North Coast and onward if so desired. Once you arrive in Sydney a taxi will get you to my apartment in 10 minutes which in Sydney is a boon.
Opposite the apartment block there is a major shopping centre and a block away a free golf course. A 15 minutes car drive away are ocean beaches and swimming pools.
