We have only lived in this home for 12 months and are presently renovating. By the time it is available for exchange, at the end of 2011, it will have a large living area with polished timber flooring (approx 55sq.m.) which incorporates the kitchen, dining and lounge areas. This opens on to the front balcony, where there is a large barbeque and dining area. This area is elevated from the road, overlooks the front garden and has views to the Pacific Ocean. There is a second large living area, containing a double sofa bed, which has a bathroom attached. This room also has a balcony with views of the beach.
There are 3 double bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, one containing a spa bath, plus a shower and toilet in the laundry. This can be accessed directly from outside after trips to the beach.
The house has TV, hard disc drive recorder, stereo, internet, ducted vacuum system. There is air conditioning in both living areas and ceiling fans in the bedrooms, but most days the sea breeze is enough to keep the house pleasant.
At the back of the house there is a paved area and to the side a grassed area with vegetable gardens. We will arrange for the lawns to be mowed as required during the exchange period.
It is in a fairly quiet street and the backyard is fenced. The patrolled beach is only a pleasant 15 minute walk away, or a 5 minute drive.
Downstairs there is a double garage containing a table tennis table, surfboards and a body board. Some wetsuits are also available.
We would be happy to include our car in the exchange arrangement. We have only lived in this home for 12 months and are presently renovating. Terrigal is only about 1 hour's drive on a freeway from Sydney's northern suburbs, an hour and a half to the centre of Sydney. During January is the Sydney Festival, with many cultural displays and performances.
The Central Coast is well known for its beautiful beaches, popular for swimming, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing. Terrigal is a very popular family beach and also has a protected, closed lagoon which is very popular with families with small children. It is also known for its cafes, restaurants and relaxed lifestyle.
There are many attractions in the local area including a reptile and wildlife park, National Parks with many beautiful bushwalks, extensive shopping malls, golf courses, ice skating rink and many other sporting facilities.
About an hour to the north is the famous Hunter Valley wine producing area.
Terrigal is well serviced by public transport, with buses, which run past the end of our street, connecting with the rail network in Gosford. My husband and I are both high school teachers, aged 55, and our youngest child, Marni, is completing her HSC this year. We would all like to travel to Europe when her exams are finished, specifically to the region where France, Italy and Switzerland meet. We would like to have a base in one or two places over the 4-6 weeks we can be away and travel from there to see the area thoroughly, rather than making flying visits to many cities. We enjoy music (listening and playing), gardening, reading, tennis, skiing and renovating our home. We have not been involved in a home exchange before but really like the idea, both for its practicality (afford ability) and also because it is so much more personal than renting out the house and paying rent elsewhere. We are looking forward to meeting the people who will enjoy and care for our home and are sure you will find it a convenient and comfortable place to stay, in a wonderful location.
