We hope you'd like to come and stay at our large family home in Lake Macquarie neighbouring Newcastle which has just been included in Lonely Planet's "Top 10 Places to Visit". Our house is 2 k's upstream on a river which opens onto the salt water lake, Australia's largest. Heaps of space with three double bedrooms, and three bathrooms,two other rooms, (study and dressing room that couls accommodate extra inflatable beds if required. A very comfortable stay for a family group or maybe two... Separate living areas upstairs and down, including a terrace (and BBQ)on each level to look out over the swimming pool and spa to the river. We have just renovated 2 of the bathrooms and the house is freshly painted inside and out.

Dora Creek is a small village with general store and a few other shops. 5 minutes away is Morisset with supermarkets and small shopping malls. This is also the entrance to F3 freeway to Sydney. It's a 90 minute drive to Sydney City, 120 minutes by train. A short walk to the railway station for trains to Newcastle and Sydney, or use of our car can be arranged to drive to the vineyards of the Hunter Valley or Whale or Dolphin cruising at Port Stephens. Several beaches and golf courses are within an easy drive too. Morisset Country Club (where we are members) with 18 hole parkland golf course is only 5 mins away. Lake Macquarie is 4 times larger than Sydney harbour, and is located 7 miles (10K) inland from Newcastle (Australia's 6th largest city). . http://www.visitlakemac.com.au Something about ourselves

We are a working couple in our 50's, David and Fiona, with grown children Nicole and Jeremy, who have left home. We are experienced travellers and loved our first exchange to France so are now looking for another adventure! We love golf and fishing, seeing new sights and experiencing different cultures.
