Large Home with wonderful ocean views on beautiful east coast of New South Wales Australia, also self contained flat.
Our home is at Valla Beach (10 mins to Nambucca Heads & 35 minutes to Coffs Harbour), on the mid north coast of New South Wales. We are only 30 minutes from Coffs Harbour airport and situated half way between Sydney and Brisbane. Short walk to beach. The self contained flat is on the ground floor of our home and is available with the house, or separately for non synchronous exchanges.
We are half way between Sydney and Brisbane, approximately 500 kilometres south to Sydney and 500 kilometres north to Brisbane. We are only 30 minutes from an airport, and we can arrange to have you picked up by friends and driven to our home. The use of our car is negotiable.
UPSTAIRS: Main house is normally available for simultaneous exchange. If needed you can use the flat as well.
DOWNSTAIRS: Self contained flat is available for non simultaneous exchange at most times of the year.
UPSTAIRS: Main house with large lounge & dining room, very large family room, kitchen, laundry, 2 offices, 2 bedrooms, one with queen bed, one with king bed (converts to 2 singles), 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets and balcony for outdoor eating. Air conditioning in main living areas. You can use our computer for your email or use our WiFI with your laptop.
DOWNSTAIRS: Self contained flat has one bedroom with queenbed, living room with six bunks, bathroom, separate toilet, kitchenette, and balcony for outdoor eating. Living room has air conditioning. The flat is comfortable and well equipped. There is also a "Weber Q" gas barbecue.
Australian Native Plants Garden also includes large gazebo with larger barbecue facilities which can be used by all exchangers.

The east coast of NSW has spectacular scenery with lots of blue skies and sunshine. Good walking areas, beautiful beaches, great bird life, occasional kangaroos. Dolphins & whales are regularly seen on our coastline. The area has stunning scenery, national parks, surfing beaches, beach villages. Mountain & rainforest 1hr drive. Small town Nambucca Heads 10 mins drive (supermarkets, banks, shops, cinema); larger town Coffs Harbour 35 mins drive.
Our home is situated on the New South Wales east coast, half way between Sydney & Brisbane (500 kms each direction). Great base to explore north, south & west country New South Wales. You can drive west and visit Bellingen in half an hour, or further west to the lovely little town of Dorrigo which has a wonderful national park, further on again you will find Armidale, a university town. Just half an hour to the north lies Coffs Harbour, further on to Grafton, Lismore, Ballina and Byron Bay. Drive south to Kempsey in under an hour and a further half hour takes you to Port Macquarie. Longer trips to Taree and Newcastle.
There is an International Golf Course at Bonville, 25 minutes drive, also several community golf courses within a short drive. Mountain & rainforest & waterfalls are 1hour's drive. There are many interesting places on the beautiful north coast, but if you would like a complete change of scenery for a few days, the airport is only 30 minutes drive and Sydney just over one hour away by plane. If you want to see the famous Queensland Gold Coast, it is about 4 1/2 hours drive north. However the beaches on the NSW north coast are (in our opinion) even nicer and they are not crowded, sometimes you are the only people on the beach!

We are both seniors. Meg is a Marriage Celebrant, and Jim a retired Management Consultant. For most exchanges there will just be the two of us. However we would sometimes like the option of bringing another one or two family members or friends with us and we would of course discuss this with you in advance.
We are always interested in exchanges in Australia and we have family in South Australia (Adelaide) and New South Wales (Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong) so these areas are particularly attractive to us. Dates and length of stay are negotiable. Please note we cannot give a firm “yes” to dates in the December/January NSW school holidays until very close to the time, so if you are interested in these school holidays send us an email two or three weeks before they commence.
We have a Toyota Kluger all wheel drive which seats seven (five, with two extra seats which are stored flat), is available for overseas or long distance Australian exchange on reciprocal basis.
At the end of your stay we prefer you use our regular cleaning service who are very familiar with cleaning our highly glossed timber floors. It is very good value, and you can relax at the end of your stay. Alternatively, we can include the cleaning service on a reciprocal basis. (Not essential if using only the flat).
We will answer all emails, so please do contact us! We normally reply within two or three days. When we travel it may take a little longer but as we take our laptop with us it should be within a week. If you haven't heard from us within a week, please send us another email.
We would ask you to water our garden when needed (most taps on timers) plus indoor plants & patio plants once or twice a week.
We are very experienced exchangers and can arrange references if required.
