Quambi is a coastal Australian cottage one hundred years old and restored for holidays set in trees and gardens. French doors open onto verandahs that overlook the palms and ferns and flowers of a subtropical garden. A good surf beach is just a walk away. Two bedrooms, a TV room and a generous open living area. Light and airy . The kitchen looks out to fern gardens and we dine with this view. Breakfast is taken on the verandah in summer. Its amazing how you can have access to Byron Bay's night life and culture when you want to, or be so privately tucked away when you stay home at Quambi. Fabulous walks are nearby over Broken Head and the possibilities of exploring the region in day trips are endless. The house is cosy, convenient, clean and unique. Plenty of glass giving views across the gardens and even a small wallaby that visits in the early morning to nibble on grasses and fern. We live 2hrs south of Byron in Grafton on the banks of the Clarence River where we run a B&B business (see the Homepage). We would be happy to offer hospitality and some of the stay at Arcola if interested.

Imagine a cottage in a palm garden. From the verandahs you can barely see another home. Yet you can easily walk to a surf beach with your towel and swimmers any time you wish. You can shop, eat and drink at the local hotel or go to the curry house or coffee or fish and chips also at a walking distance. This is a holiday town where people from all over the world come to surf and explore. Famous for alternate culture the region celebrates music and visual arts as well as a strong surf culture. So many restaurants, and cheaper eateries, to choose from. So many natural wonders to explore. Mt Warning, Minyon Falls, Byron Headland, Bundjalung National Park, and just a day trip to the Gold coast for BIG shopping! Think yoga, meditation, healing and alternative life styles in the surrounding hills. Think endless white sand beaches and the best surf in the world and you are getting the picture. Sep

Rosemary and Graham. We have travelled and found that we prefer to stay and get to know a place well. We very much love to get to know the local people and language. Graham is a teacher and Rosemary runs an accommodation business so we get along with people fairly easily. Our aim would be to share our Byron house with people who wish to explore the Australian coastal lifestyle while we explore the other side of the world. We are flexible to length of time and also to time of year. We are both healthy, active and interested in the world. Both of us are musicians interested in Celtic music. We enjoy history, homes and gardens and like to look after any place we are staying. It is part of the journey.
