Our property has two homes on 18 acres, 8 of the acres are under award wining gardens and the rest of the land is natural bushland joining world heritage national park. The home available for swap is a charming 100 year old cottage which has just been completely renovated. The cottage has all the modern conveniences but also has old world charm with views to the far distance (blue mountains) and lovely vistas from each window into the garden. The ceilings are 11 foot with two fireplaces, air-conditioning, 3 bedrooms (1 x king size, 2 x queen size), numerous TV's (4), foxtel, internet, xbox, playstation, wii, books and 100's of DVD's and a gym in our garage. The only request I have is for shoes to be removed before entering the home.

We are located approximately 90 minutes from Sydney International Airport (depending on traffic) in a semi rural town called Bilpin which is famous for growing apples and stone fruits. This area is a popular tourist destination for many Sydney people due to the scenic drive. There are also some great eatery's along the way. Bilpin is 750 metres above sea level therefore the climate is good for cool climate gardens. In summer if Sydney is 40 degrees Celsius we are normally 7 degrees cooler with the summer temp averaging 28 to 33 degrees(which is more comfortable). The winters here (June, July & August) can get cold with average temps of 10 to 15 degrees down to 4 to -1 at night! Great weather for siping a red by the wood fire. If you enjoy bushwalking its at your back door (some parts are steep) with a 20 m waterfall on our property. Alternatively there are several golf courses within 20 minutes drive located in the lovely rural country village of Kurrajong which also offers several cafe's, restaurants, antiques and craft stores a chemist, doctor, butcher, hairdresser and general store. A 30 minute drive away is the historic town of Windsor. Windsor is one of the first towns to be settled in Australia and is also very popular as a tourist drive on weekends with a weekend market, many inexpensive cafes or restaurants and often they have live music in the park. Richmond is also 30 minutes drive from our home where you can catch a train right into Sydney City. Sydney offers all the activities of a large cosmopolitan city and is world famous for its beautiful harbour - all only 1 hour by train from Richmond. Within 2 hours of our home by car are great vineyards (Hunter Valley - North or Mudgee - South). ![]() Something about ourselves

We are a family of 4, Barry 48, Lee 47, James 22 & Michael 19 years. Barry is the Sales Director for a very successful consulting business within the Electricity and Gas sector. I (Lee) have recently retired and now dedicated to our home and garden. Our eldest son James is in his final year at uni completing his Masters in Marketing. Michael is in his 4th year as an Apprentice Carpenter & Builder. We love good food and wine and enjoy having family and friends over for a BBQ. We are very proud home owners and gardeners and would treat your home as if it were our own. We have a Dalmation named Charlie who will be cared for whilst we are away and a gardener will maintain the grounds during travel. If our swap is simaltaneous we have a car available to use - you will need a car here! We hope to have a car available to use in our swap too. In June 2010 we did our first home exchange in Northern France. It was very successful and we would love to do more. As our adult children both work and study they are unlikely to travel with us and stay at our other home on the property. We welcome any contact and all offers will be considered. ![]()
