Description of our house

The main floor has one bedroom with a double / single bunk bed system and a dresser. The bedroom has two windows and its own door to a back patio. The main floor has an entertainment room with Cable TV, VCR, radio, and lots of games. This room has a futon that can be used as a double bed. This room also has two large windows and its own door which opens to a backyard patio. The master bedroom is upstairs in the second floor. This is a large bedroom with two south facing windows overlooking the backyard. Furniture includes a queen sized bed and dresser. Patio doors off the dining area are open to a ground level deck. A full bathroom with tub, shower, toilet, sink clothes washer, and dryer is on the main floor. A clothes washer and dryer are on site. Water is produced from a well on the property. While the water has been tested and is safe to drink we encourage guests to drink filtered water. Since Gabriola water is a special resource we ask that guests use water judiciously.

Wake up to the sounds of the neighbour’s rooster crowing, a woodpecker pecking a tree, or a Sea Lion bellowing. The sounds of Gabriola are many and varied. You may hear a bleating goat on your walk to the beach or the buzz of a Hummingbird while it enjoys a treat in the feeder. The house is located one block from the beach with many access points to both colourful rocky and sand beaches. The tide pools and the beaches reveal sea life at low tide with many starfish and sea urchins ready for the looking. Wildlife abounds around the house. You will find deer grazing in the backyard, Bald Eagles hunting, or seals frolicking in the waters around the island. Kids will love the frogs and other forest creatures. There are many activities on the island that can be enjoyed by both young and old. There are many opportunities for sports such as kayaking, fishing sailing, hiking, tennis, & golf. The island is known as the Artists' island so the arts are easily found. Something about ourselves

We are two psychologists in private practice. Our son is now in university. Our other member of the family is a yellow Labrador Retriever dog named Hunter. Our main home is in Calgary, Alberta but we enjoy using our home on Gabriola as much as possible. Barb loves books and paints for a hobby. Bob loves to fish and is a potter.
