Located on the border of a large open area of barrancas, arroyos and rolling hills with a large buffalo herd, our place has magical views of mountains, agricultural valley land and arid western mesas. The pueblo of Pojoaque (PO-Wha-Kay) is our neighbor, and they have built a casino, hotels, small shopping mall with a good grocery and video rental and a new, wonderful Wellness Center. We are 15 highway miles from Santa Fe, a beautiful famous art, food, and culture city. The town itself is full of galleries, good restaurants, chamber music and opera and lots of sightseeing. In the winter, we have skiing within an hour's drive at Santa Fe, or 30 minutes further away at Taos. River rafting, rock climbing, hiking, horseback riding and biking are all warm weather pursuits available nearby. Something about ourselves

I am Pat, 61, a violinist, and food writer. My husband Chris, 71, is the remodeler and can fix anything; he is a retired physicist who loves wines and wine tastings. We love to travel, but we also love our home, and we take very good care of it. We are both in very good physical shape and like places that are not on the beaten path. We love to scuba dive and hike, as well as to explore markets and small cafes. Our goal is living well, and we love home exchanges because of the good will and generosity we share with people who are initially strangers but soon become trusted friends. Sharing someone's home is an intimate experience, and it makes a visit to a new location so much easier and nicer. We always leave lists of places to go and see as well as restaurant recommendations for our guests. ![]()
